
Tamarind: 100gm
Sugar/jaggery: 50gm
Dates: 50gm
Cumin powder: 1tsp(roasted)
Garam masala powder: 1/4tsp
Chilly powder: 1/4tsp
Salt and pepper to taste
Water: 2cup
Method:
Wash and soak tamarind in 1 cup of water for 10 mins. In a bowl, microwave tamarind with water at high power for 1-2 mins. Cool, strain and collect the pulp. In another bowl add dates, salt garam masala, red chilli, 1 cup water. Microwave for 4 - 5 mins. at high power. When softened, add tamarind pulp, crushed sugar and microwave at 80% power for 5 - 6 mins. or till thick. Sprinkle roasted cumin seeds powder. When cool, strain the chutney and store in clean bottles.
